Gunung Datuk (Gunung Dato) 14 Nov 09'

Konichiwa,

Is time for blogging for Gunung Datuk. For the last week i joined an event in facebook to go Gunung Datuk, around 10 people is going for hiking only 4 people for 1 day trip. Early in the morning on saturday 7.15 am i go to meet Sharon Chow group at Cheras BHP and having our breakfast nearby there.

How to go to Gunung Datuk? From Sungai Besi highway just go straight to Senawang toll exit. From the exit go straight around 50 meter you will saw a traffic light turn right and go straight until you see Gunung Datuk road. Well as i wanted to search for Gunung Datuk Map in Negeri Sembilan in Google but some how i can't find.

I think only take around 2 and half hour to reach top. Well is raining season and is raining on that day so take lesser picture.

Thank you.

Terry Fox Run KL 01 Nov '09

Konichiwa,

My first time joining charity run,This charity is just for fun and to raise the Cancer research fund, Is a very meaningful run for me. Just pay RM 25 for the T-shirt and run.

Terry Fox Run is a charity run event of raising CARIF.
After watching the Video Terry Fox ESPN it become a must for me to join this run the following year by year.

Do something meaningful that you know, it will make you smile.

If you just join the run for fun or your friend call you to join, Then you should come back next year for this meaningful story behind this man Terry Fox even thought you are alone.

here some info that i saw from facebook i share to you all, although the event is over but is still nice to share, I hope that will be even more people will join this event by next year.

Terry Fox was 18 years old when he was diagnosed with bone cancer. His right leg was amputated above the knee. Whilst in hospital, Terry was moved by the suffering of cancer patients, particularly children. So much so that he resolved to run across Canada (a distance of 8,500 kilometers) to raise money for cancer research. He called his journey the “Marathon of Hope”. Terry Fox, an amputee, ran a marathon (42 kilometers) a day for 143 consecutive days - a total distance of 5,373 kilometers. At that stage, Terry was forced to abandon his run as the cancer spread to his lungs. Terry Fox died at the tender age of 21. Before he died, he knew that a fund-raising event would be held each year, with the same objectives as the Marathon of Hope - to help find a cure for cancer.

Since 1981, the Terry Fox Run has raised more than RM1.3 billion in aid of cancer research around the world. You would be interested to note the Terry Fox Foundation requires that the funds raised be used for cancer research in the country where the Run is held. The Terry Fox Run in Malaysia has since 2001 raised more than RM500,000/-.

The t-shirts will be sold at RM25 per piece and all funds collected goes to CARIF - Cancer Research Initiative Foundation of Malaysia (http://www.carif.com.my) This is an annual event held worldwide every year to raise funds for cancer research.

He wouldn't have run 3,000 miles and raised millions for cancer research if he had said, "Let someone else do it"

Thank you.
